New York Yankees The Yankees are the greatest franchise in the history of sports. With 26 World Championships and the most valued franchise in all of America, it is more than a team, it is a legacy. The current owner of the team in George Steinbrenner, although due to recent health problems he has handed most of the reigns over to his sons, Hank and Hal. 2008 marks the last year the Yankees will play at the historic Yankee Stadium because a new stadium down the street from the old one is currently in construction and is projected to be ready for the 2009 season.

Joe Flacco Joe Flacco was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens this year. He will compete with Kyle Boller for the starting job. Flacco impressed scouts at the University of Delaware (where he played) with an astounding quarterback rating of over 140.

Ervin Santana Ervin Santana is a pitcher for the Angels. He started the 2008 season with a 6-0 record. The 25-year-old is right handed and is currently showing signs of a very good future in the MLB.

Darrell Rasner Darrell Rasner is a starting pitcher for the New York Yankees. He was recently called up to the bigs to take Phil Hughes' spot after he landed in the DL. Rasner has had a great start with two solid performances and he could possibly be a strong part of the rotation in the future.
